Tech Test
Gordo is the man for test study materials, but you can get much the same info for free by taking the practice tests here:
http://www.eham.net/exams/
These are word-for-word the actual questions and answers ( although the answer order will be repermutated-they have to give you some challenge!) Take the practice test until you pass consistently and you will pass the actual FCC test. Some people can accomplish enough answer memorization to do this in one afternoons' study session. Frankly, don't even worry about the content or the meaning of the answers, just lock onto key words and numbers.
Gordons books are a great place to go to learn the theory, law, practices, etc. Most hams that I know have little interest in talking on the radio, sending code, building giant antennae, etc, and just want to do digital modes like APRS ( Of course, my contacts are kind of self-selecting)
Good luck with the test! If you find that you passed the Tech test with no problem, you have already paid the sitting fee and you can take the General Class test for no additional fee. There is a pretty good chance you will pass with common sense and a little luck even if you don't study, but a little bit of studying will increase the likelihood of success.
