One airport I very much want to visit is Helgoland (EDXH) in Germany. This airport is located on one of two co-located islands in the North Sea. Here is a link to some pictures on the airport website:

There are three very short runways but given that the average wind speeds are around 20 knots this is not normally a problem. Nevertheless, 100 hours PIC are required before your permitted to land here. Fuel is also cheap as there is no VAT charged.

Helgoland has a remarkable history. See below:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heligoland

It was the site of one of the largest non nuclear single explosions, when on 18th April 1947 when 6800 tonnes of ex WW2 explosives and munitions were blown up by the British.

If you have an interesting airfield that you really want to visit, let us know about it.

Hi Tony,

When you in that area, you might as well drop in at Juist. Cobblestone runway and a 200 yard walk to the beach. Just mind the turbulence on short final due to the dunes that you are overflying.

How's your RV3 coming along, by the way?
