max width of gear?

Curiosity is getting the better of me, and I wonder if I can get someone to measure the width of their RV-8 main gear. I just hauled a Kolb to the airport yesterday, using my 18ft trailer, which has rails on the side. There is 84" between the rails, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to use this for the RV-8. Without the wheel pants, what's the measurement between the outside of the axle nuts?

As I mentioned, this is purely curiousity now, as I'll be able to answer this question for myself, well before I need to trailer it. In other words, don't go out of your way to measure this, but if you have the plane sitting in the garage, and easily measured, I'd be interested.

It will fit. I hauled my RV8 fuselage on an 18' by 84" trailer and there was at least a couple of extra inches width left. If I remember, thr RV8 was 82" wide at the wheels.

82" is what I remember and I also had an 84" that just made it.
