Black Hole in Cody WY

Just got through with a quick trip to Cody, WY and APRS coverage stops at Yellowstone Park.

Has anyone else seen such a large area of no coverage? I fly out of Fallon, KFLX, and don't get any hits until I am 500' agl both this area of WY seems to be a real dead zone.

Get used to it

Most of central Utah is a black hole when it comes to weather radar. We rely on pireps when we contact the FSS serving the area.
Because of the mountains, Center can't see you until you're at 12500 msl or higher so keep your oxygen bottle topped off. That pretty much applies to everything west of Denver.
