Where should I drill a hole for the tail light wires?

I know some of you -7 builders have solved this simple problem.

I?ve been looking at the aft end of my fuselage trying to figure out where to drill the hole for the position and strobe light wires. Since I?m building a -9 and not a -9A it looks like there may be a big chunk of steel in the way. Do you drill through the tail wheel weldment, above it, or...?

Right in the center of the lower rudder hinge bracket.
