Cross talk???

Senior Curmudgeon
My GRT EIS instructions say to feed a bit of voltage---4.7V, I think it was, to some of the sensors----gas gauges, fuel pressure, and amp sensor, IIRC.

Some of them use a resistor to further drop the voltage.

There is only one output for the 4.7V from the EIS, so all of these have to share the same hookup.

Question is, should there also be a blocking diode in the leads, so the various sensors dont effect each other??

GRT dosent seem to be working today, (no one is answering the phone), so I thought I would ask here.

Thanks in advance.

No diodes required in my installation Mike - just split the voltage wherever it needs to go, and the sensors seam to work with it just fine. I think that the current flow is so minuscule that there is no measurable voltage drop, so they all see the same thing.

Thanks Paul, that will make it a lot easier.

I guess those GRT folks know what they are doing.
