Girl Scout Young Eagles

Today was a beautiful fall day in Minneapolis and local RV Pilot Bill Swanson arranged for the Minnesota Wing to support the young ladies in his daughter's Girl Scout troop in getting their Aerospace badge.

Bill, Minnesota Wing president Doug Wiler, Jim Lenzmeier, Tom Berge, Bernie Weiss and I gave rides to a dozen young ladies, some parents, grandparents and siblings. The Tower staff at KANE was very accommodating, recognizing us as Girl Scout flights, much to the delight of out passengers.

12 happy girls, 6 happy pilots, and no sicsacs required.

My two co-pilots were naturals, enjoying the view with ooos and ahhs, even requesting steep turns over the lakes. Give a kid a ride - it will make your day.

Nice job, Pete and all. I'd have been right in the middle of the action also if I weren't at your alma mater today, Pete. Let's just say that Iowa State didn't win the football game against Texas, and leave it at that.

Iowa State

Yes, the football team has never been good, but we did beat the Hawkeyes this year. :D Iowa State did give me a heck of an engineering degree and I met the love of my life there. I think that was a fair trade.

Now let's talk when wrestling season rolls around...........

Awesome Job

One of the best aspects of flying is sharing it with someone who doesn't!
