GPS Repeater / Reradiator ?

I recall seeing post about someone using a GPS repeater to get a GPS signal in a hanger but I could not find it. I also could not find much using google except for high $$ systems.

Does any one know where to get an inexpensive GPS reradiator?

Legal issues...

May not be legal to easily do in the US...

From a manufacturer's web site

PLEASE NOTE:
GPS re-radiator devices may be sold only to foreign parties. Domestic customers must provide proof of authorization obtained from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) before a transaction can be completed. For further information regarding NTIA requirements, see Chapter 8.3.28 of the NTIA manual,

Here's one that has been written about before - I don't have personal experience with it or any relationship with the company. I believe the model # RA-46 is what was used with positive results.

Bob, That link is to a Canadian company....

This link is to a San Jose company that got fined $75,000 for selling those same devices in the US...

This paragraph is the interesting one, I think...

16. Finally, we do not find San Jose?s claim -- that it was unaware that its GPS re-radiator devices violated the rules until it received the Division?s letter of inquiry -- warrants a downward adjustment of the proposed aggregate forfeiture amount. It is a well established and long-standing principle that ignorance of the law is not a mitigating factor and does not warrant a downward adjustment of an assessed forfeiture.

Is it worth the risk?
