Are RV-6 empennages unique?

Apparently some parts of Vans a/c are usable on several dash-models: I have been told for example that wing tips of RV-6 are the same as several other dash-numbers.
How about empennages? Is there another -#'s empennage that can be used on a -6? Are there parts of empennages such as elevators interchangeacle?
I appreciate any information on this thread.
Thank you.

That would depend upon the vintage of the tail kit. Early tail kits differ from the later ones, in that the later ones used the larger VS and counterbalanced rudder from the RV-8. I believe, but am not certain, that the HS and elevators were the same thoughout the production run.

Some

The airfoils of the -4's, 6's, 7's and 8 are the same and the wingtips interchangeable (we have the sheared tips on our 6). The tails of the 7's and 8 are thicker skinned and also one reason why the redline on the 7 and 8 is higher (230 MPH vs. 210). The 9 uses a different airfoil designed by John Roncz.
