canopy strut bracing

On my RV-6A I used the struts on the tip up canopy to hold it up and open duting a gust of wind. Sometimes that isn't quite enough and it will come down on its own. What is everyone else using to hold there tip up canopy open during windy times to keep it from being blown shut. Bill Marcum in windy Corpus Christi, Texas

When it's windy, we close it, before it blows shut.
and
when it is kinda easy to blow shut, it is a sign our struts are getting weak and needing replacing.
500+TT and on third set of struts.....oh, 10 yrs too.
Don't be shy about changing them, they are cheap.
