Has anyone done their own wiring harness-molex connectors, etc. What tools? What kind of soldering iron? Crimper? etc. Pls share your advice. Thanks.

Hey Rolly,

I did all of my own avionics wiring. It really is fairly easy. You only have to run 1 wire at a time and every wire only has 2 ends! Now that the basics are out of the way... :) What did I use?

I got supplies from
Aeroelectric where I found gold avionics pins and inexpensive crimp tools. It's best to crimp everything that you can as soldering can cause vibration fractures down the road. You can get wire from them also, or any avionics shop. I also got a molex crimper from them and coax tools.

I got molex & amp CPC connectors from Mouser Electronics for other quick disconnect areas.

Let us know if you have specific questions as you go along.
