When I tried hanging my rudder to the VS, with the fiberglass tips attached I noticed that the bottom fiberglass tip was contacting the rear tail tie down.
The rear tie down ring I received from Van's is welded into the corner of a piece of stainless? angle. Therefore a piece is sticking outward which hits the rudder fiberglass. So am I supposed to cut/trim this little bit that sticks out? There is no way this tie down would fit between the VS spar and fuselage so it is placed on the outside.
Having the plane at a hanger and not having blueprints at hand makes it a little difficult to routinely check this out, therefore the question to the group.
